At Cancer Care Navigator, our mission is simple:
To help cancer patients and their families clearly understand their diagnosis, treatment options, and care decisions.
We translate medical evidence, clinical research, and established oncology practice into clear, practical guidance—so you can make informed decisions with confidence, alongside your medical team.
Our Mission
Our Story
During a routine check-up, our son’s pediatrician noticed something unusual in his abdomen. An ultrasound that same day revealed a large tumor occupying most of his right kidney. Surgery followed immediately, and the kidney was removed. While doctors initially believed the tumor had been fully excised, the pathology report changed everything. It was clear cell sarcoma of the kidney—a rare and aggressive cancer—with signs it had already begun to spread.
We were suddenly faced with an agonizing decision: monitor and hope the cancer would not return, or pursue aggressive chemotherapy and radiation to eliminate any remaining cancer cells. Both options carried serious short- and long-term risks. Drawing on our backgrounds in medical science, we immersed ourselves in clinical research, examined treatment outcomes, and asked difficult, detailed questions. That understanding gave us the confidence to make the hardest decision of our lives—grounded in evidence and guided by our son’s long-term future.
The months that followed were incredibly difficult. We watched our son endure treatment no child should have to face. Throughout it all, we stayed engaged in his care—asking questions, identifying potential errors, and advocating relentlessly. Today, he is a healthy, active teenager. We carry deep peace of mind knowing we made the best possible decisions using the most current medical knowledge available at the time.
While in the pediatric oncology ward, we witnessed something equally powerful. Many families were overwhelmed—struggling to understand complex information, unsure what questions to ask, and uncertain how to advocate for their loved ones. The fear and helplessness were unmistakable. It became clear how transformative clarity and understanding could be in moments like these.
That experience is why we created Cancer Care Navigator. We exist to provide families with evidence-based guidance, clear explanations, and informed support—so no one has to navigate cancer care feeling lost or alone.
Our Journey Began When Our One-Year-Old Son Was Diagnosed With Cancer
Cancer Care Navigator was founded by Dr. Steve Moore, Ph.D., and Ambika Moore, B.S.
Together, we bring decades of experience in medical science, biotechnology, and clinical research. Our work has spanned early-stage discovery through clinical trials, giving us deep insight into how cancer treatments are developed, evaluated, and applied in real-world care. We translate that complexity into clear, practical guidance patients and families can actually use.
We know what it feels like to face cancer with fear, confusion, and unanswered questions. We have lived through the uncertainty of complex diagnoses, high-stakes decisions, and the emotional weight that comes with them.
That personal experience—combined with decades of work in medical science and clinical research—led us to create Cancer Care Navigator. We saw firsthand how powerful clear, accurate, evidence-based information can be when families are overwhelmed and unsure how to move forward.
We believe that when patients and families truly understand their care options, they feel more confident, more engaged, and better equipped to make informed decisions alongside their medical team.
